Our five-year Cooperative Innovative High School model spans grades 9–13 and is built around a true college-campus experience, with a school day from 11:00 AM–5:15 PM that allows students to balance high school requirements with increasingly rigorous GTCC coursework. Our students earn a tuition-free associate degree or technical diploma while completing their high school graduation requirements.

Students have access to a wide range of GTCC courses and pathways and gradually take on greater independence and responsibility as college students. The program is designed for students who are ready to challenge themselves academically, develop strong time-management and self-advocacy skills, and take advantage of opportunities beyond the traditional high school experience.

Students can participate in Student Government, school clubs, service opportunities, leadership activities, mentoring, schoolwide events, and student-led initiatives. House and advisory activities help build connection, school spirit, leadership, and a strong sense of community.

Because students attend school on a college campus, student life looks different from a traditional high school and includes opportunities to develop independence, navigate a college environment, and engage with the broader GTCC community.

Athletics are not offered through the Middle College at GTCC-Greensboro; students may participate in athletics through their assigned neighborhood school.
